Global Satellite Connectivity
The InReach 86i operates on the Iridium® satellite network, providing reliable global coverage where mobile phones cannot reach. This ensures that lone workers in remote locations can stay connected at all times, and managers can monitor real-time GPS locations to respond quickly to any situation.
Two-way messaging and app integration
Workers can send and receive 160-character text messages even without cellular service. The InReach 86i supports pre-set messages for quick communication and can be paired with the Earthmate® app, allowing messages to be sent from a mobile device - GPS can be viewed on a map, and offline maps to be downloaded for navigation in remote areas.
Rugged, durable design
Built for the harshest environments, the InReach 86i is IP67-rated, making it water resistant (incidental exposure to water of up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes), dustproof, and impact-resistant. Its durable construction ensures reliable operation in rain, dust, and accidental drops, giving workers confidence that the device will perform when they need it most.
Tracking and safety alerts
The InReach 86i automatically tracks movements every 10 minutes when moving and every 60 minutes when stationary to preserve battery life. It includes an SOS button for emergencies, manual duress alerts, and a check-in feature for limited coverage areas. Managers receive notifications of SOS activations or missed check-ins, providing peace of mind and the ability to respond quickly to potential safety incidents.
User-friendly interface and long battery life
InReach 86i features a colour screen, virtual keyboard with predictive text, LED indicators for satellite connectivity, and audible message notifications. Its rechargeable lithium battery provides up to 35 hours of operation in 10-minute tracking mode and up to 200 hours (expedition mode), without the need for frequent recharging.
